Small Brunsrode is a village in the municipality of teaching in the district of Helmstedt in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

Klein Brunsrode is located southwest of Wolfsburg and north of Braunschweig . The distance to the district town of Helmstedt is around 31 kilometers. Klein Brunsrode is located north of federal highway 2 and west of federal highway 39 . The landscape is mainly determined by agriculture. In the south there are wooded areas. Immediately neighboring villages are - starting in the north, clockwise - Jelpke (two kilometers), Wolfsburg-Ehmen (three kilometers), Flechtorf (three kilometers), Groß Brunsrode (two kilometers) and Essenrode (three kilometers away).

Village structure

Klein Brunsrode is a place with a rural village center along the main road and a modern residential area north of it. In February 2018, 364 people lived in Klein Brunsrode. Immediately to the east of the village is the Braunschweig – Wolfsburg railway line .

history

Klein Brunsrode was founded in 1318 as a minori Brunesrode as a ducal fiefdom of those of Honlage . In 1525 it was sold to von Arnim , who three years later sold it to K. Cappaun from Zwickau . In 1594, Klein Brunsrode was parish off to Groß Brunsrode. In 1636 the von Bülow bought the place. In a directory from 1760/62 nine farms with 70 inhabitants are listed. From 1800 the pupils from Klein Brunsrode attended the school in Groß Brunsrode. Agriculture was the main line of business until 1950. Today most of the residents work in the surrounding cities of Braunschweig and Wolfsburg. In 1951 a fire station was built , which was replaced by a larger new building in 1998.

As part of the administrative and community reform in Lower Saxony , Klein Brunsrode, which until then was an independent community in the Braunschweig district, was incorporated into the municipality on July 1, 1972 after apprenticeship. On March 1, 1974, the community of teaching was added to the district of Helmstedt.

Small Brunsrode situated on the county road Wolfsburg Ehmen large Brunsrode. Another district road leads to Jelpke, a third branches off south of Klein Brunsrode to Essenrode. Bus connections on school days lead to apprenticeship and Flechtorf as well as to Wolfsburg and Groß Brunsrode.
