The Roman Catholic parish church in Rohrbach bei Mattersburg is in the market town of Rohrbach bei Mattersburg in the Mattersburg district in Burgenland . The parish church of St. Sebastian belongs to the Deanery Mattersburg in the Diocese of Eisenstadt .

history

The new parish church was built below the church hill from 1959 to 1962 according to the plans of the architect Josef Patzelt . The old parish church on the hill was demolished in 1970 following a municipal council resolution. A new morgue was built in place of the old parish church.

Furnishing

There is an oil painting of a Turk with an inscription on the salvation from Turkish captivity in 1683, a picture of the Holy Family , a picture of St. Rosalia and a picture of Anna the third , all with acanthus frames and from the 18th century. R. Steiner painted a modern picture of St. Sebastian . The door on the back wall of the pulpit shows a relief of the Good Shepherd from the 18th century.

The holy water kettle is labeled HSW 1664 .
