The Zivko Edge 540 is an aerobatic aircraft produced by the US aircraft manufacturer Zivko Aeronautics ( Guthrie , Oklahoma ).

Since the mid-1990s, many pilots have won open class aerobatics competitions on this type of aircraft, which is 100 kg lighter than the Extra 300 . A variant of the model is the two-seater Edge 540T .

The second revision Edge 540 V3 with a more aerodynamic fuselage, bonnet and flatter cabin roof is designed for higher load factors. The wing was provided with larger winglets , the exhaust, wheels and wheel cover modified and the landing gear legs shortened.

The Edge 540 is the most widely used aircraft in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship .
