Margarete Edith Maria Isakiewicz , Edith Isakiewicz for short , (born October 22, 1907 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † unknown) was an Austrian - British athlete .

Life

Edith Isakiewicz was born in Vienna on October 22, 1907. She was considered versatile and appeared in various sports. So she was active as a skier and in breaststroke . Mainly, however, it appeared in motor racing and won various prizes in competition drives. In addition, she won the Golden Ribbon of the Austrian Automobile Club in 1928 and the 1st Women's Prize in the Austrian Alpine Tour in 1930 . After the annexation of Austria , the family was expropriated and had to flee abroad, with Edith Isakiewicz settling in London . Her father Emil Isakiewicz (* February 17, 1871; † unknown) fled with her. Little is known about her further life; in a newspaper edition of the London Gazette on November 12, 1948, in which her naturalization was announced on October 5, 1948, she is listed as a manager of Radnor Mews, London W2.
