Edith Miller
Edith Jane Miller (born February 26, 1875 in Rothsay / Ontario , † June 18, 1936 in Gravesend ) was a Canadian singer (contrarian).
Life
Miller studied singing (with Francesco D'Auria ) as well as organ and piano at the Toronto Conservatory of Music and later perfected her vocal training with Alberto Randegger in London and with Mathilde Marchesi and Jean de Reszke in Paris. She first appeared as a singer in Ontario and became a soloist at New York's Bartholomew's Church in 1898 . In 1905 she made her debut in England, where she became a successful oratorio singer. She married Max Colyer-Fergusson in 1913 and ended her career as a singer in 1917 after having a child.
