Edition VFO

Edition VFO , Verein für Originalgraphik, is a non-profit art association and publisher of contemporary graphics based in Zurich .

history

The association was founded in 1948 as the «Association for the Promotion of Art». The non-profit purpose of the association is the promotion of the original graphic creation through the mediation of graphics at favorable conditions and the cultivation of the art understanding. Edition VFO is run democratically with a board of directors and a managing director. The graphics offer will be selected by a jury. According to the statutes, it wants to promote broad interest in the visual arts and at the same time encourage artists to work in print. Edition VFO currently (2018) has around 900 members as an art association.

Editions

The association has published numerous graphics with Swiss and international artists at affordable prices over the past few decades . The association publishes up to 60 editions per year and shows them in various exhibitions, most of which are not curated thematically, but rather show all newly edited works. Among other things, Edition VFO has published graphics with artists such as Günther Förg , Shirana Shahbazi , Not Vital , Pipilotti Rist , Leiko Ikemura and Tony Cragg in recent years .
