The Edmonson Point is a rounded, mostly ice-free headland on the Borchgrevink Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It lies at the foot of Mount Melbourne on the west bank of Wood Bay and is one of the breeding grounds of the Adelie penguin .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using the United States Navy's own surveys and aerial photographs from 1955 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1968 after the satellite geodesist Larry D. Edmonson, who was on the Antarctic winter of 1966 McMurdo station was operating.
