Edmund Gressel

Edmund Gressel (born April 7, 1893 in Aadorf ; † March 7, 1975 in Frauenfeld , reformed , legal domicile in Aadorf since 1902) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Edmund Gressel was born on April 7, 1893 as the son of the gardener Johann Jakob Gressel in Aadorf. The graduate of a mechanic's apprenticeship opened a mechanical repair workshop in Aadorf in 1923 and began manufacturing vices in 1933 . After the company was placed under the Factory Act in 1942 , it was converted into an AG one year later .

Since 1952, the company has specialized in the manufacture of vices and clamping technology instruments (Gressel Spanntechnik AG) in the production of pipe fittings and later pipe connection elements (Serto AG). In 2002 the company employed a total of around 70 people .

Edmund Gressel, who married Stephanie, the daughter of the innkeeper Johann Baptist Kukowitsch, in 1916, died on March 7, 1975, one month before he was 82 years old in Frauenfeld.
