Edmund Gustav Adolf Gutbier (born April 10, 1834 , probably in Trogen AR ), usually known as Edmund Gutbier for short , was a Swiss painter and photographer .

Life

Edmund's parents were Adolph Anton Robert Gutbier v. Horse life (* 1800), head of the Trogen Cantonal School , and his wife Friederike (* 1809). At the age of 17, Edmund was enrolled in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1851 .

Probably in 1878, at the latest in 1880, Edmund Gutbier entered the photo studio of Julius Liesack in Rosenheim , which was founded in 1866 in Heilig-Geist-Gasse 228 (today Stollstrasse 8). Although he was apparently employed by Liesack, he had a certain degree of independence and was also able to employ his own photographers, e.g. B. Eduard Gerrold , who later worked in Würzburg .

In 1882 Edmund Gutbier moved to Munich.
