Edo Reents

Edo Reents (born September 26, 1965 in Wittmund , East Friesland ) is a German cultural journalist and literary critic .

Life

Reents studied German, journalism and philosophy at the University of Münster and received his doctorate there in 1995 on Thomas Mann's Schopenhauer reception.

After completing his studies, he began writing in 1999 for the features section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung on pop music and humanities conferences, among other things . In April 2001 he moved with the local department head Claudius Seidl as well as Niklas Maak , Georg Diez and the film critic Michael Althen as editor for the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , where he was responsible for pop music until 2006 . Since March 2006 Reents has been writing (editorial abbreviation edo ) in the literary department of the FAZ, from January 2012 he was one of the deputies of the head of culture Nils Minkmar . Between 2015 and 2019 he was head of the feature pages of the FAZ, and since October 2019 he has been editor there again.

Reents lives in Heidelberg .
