Edoardo Molinari (born February 11, 1981 in Turin ) is an Italian professional golfer on the European Tour .
Life / career
He comes from a golf-loving family (brother of Francesco ) and began playing golf in the Circolo Golf Torino . At the height of his amateur career, Molinari became the first continental European to win the US Amateur Championship in 2005 .
He became a professional golfer in 2006 and initially played on the Challenge Tour , where he won his first tournament in 2007. After three more victories in 2009, Molinari qualified automatically for the European Tour and has so far achieved two successes there in 2010. At the end of August 2010, Captain Colin Montgomerie appointed him as captain's pick in the European selection for the 2010 Ryder Cup .
With his younger brother Francesco , he won the World Cup for Italy for the first time in November 2009 .
