Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter (born June 18, 1844 in Paris ; † March 4, 1913 ibid) was a French genre painter of Orientalism.

Richter was the son of a German and a Dutch woman. He began his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague and continued at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris with Ernest Hébert and Léon Bonnat .

After completing his studies, Richter stayed in Paris. Its first exhibition took place in 1866.

Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter mainly created portraits and genre pictures from the oriental milieu.
