Eduard Askamp

Eduard Askamp (born June 17, 1918 - July 19, 1999 ) was a German swimmer.

biography

Askamp trained at the Bremen Swimming Club (BSV) .
He became German champion in 1937 with the BSV club relay with Hermann Heibel , Helmut Fischer and Wolfgang Leisewitz in Halberstadt. In March 1938 he swam with the club relay with Hans Freese , Hermann Heibel and Helmut Fischer in the Bremen Hanse-Bad the world record time of 4: 03.6 minutes.

His sister Hella Zamponi, b. Askamp (1926–2018) was a swimmer, from 1965 a swimming trainer at BSV and TuS Huchting . His brother was a successful swimmer at the BSV.
