Eduard Feer

Eduard Albert Feer (born November 15, 1894 in Basel , † September 18, 1983 in Olivos , Province of Buenos Aires ) was a Swiss diplomat.

Live and act

In his youth Feer attended high school in Basel . He then studied political science and economics at the Universities of Heidelberg and Zurich, where he received his Dr. PhD.

After completing his studies, Feer entered the diplomatic service in his country: he received his first position in the trade department of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs in Bern. He later moved to the political department. In 1925 he was sent to the Swiss embassy in Berlin as a commercial attaché, where he remained active until 1936. During this time he was promoted to Counselor and Legation Council.

In 1936 Feer was transferred to the Swiss Legation in Washington, DC as a commercial attache . He then came to South America until 1949 as Swiss envoy in Argentina , Paraguay and Uruguay . In December 1950 he was stationed in Brazil.

In October 1954 Feer was appointed envoy of the Swiss Confederation in Greece .
