Eduard Kittl

Eduard Kittl (born September 6, 1922 in Salzburg , † August 18, 2003 in Straßwalchen ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and state official. From 1971 to 1983 he was a member of the National Council .

Kittl attended elementary school between 1928 and 1936 and then began an apprenticeship as a butcher in Salzburg- Aigen . He then worked as a brickworker and served in the Navy from 1939 to 1945 during World War II. He became a prisoner of war in 1945 and, after his return from the war, joined the state of Salzburg in 1946. He completed the official high school diploma in 1950 and passed the administrative service examination in 1953. In 1974 he was appointed senior councilor.

Kittl began his political career in 1946 as a shop steward for the SPÖ. In 1946 he became the SPÖ section chairman in Salzburg-Aigen and in 1950 took over the chairmanship of the SPÖ section in Salzburg- Maxglan . Kittl was active within the party as a member of the district party executive and state party executive, he was also involved as a member of the SPÖ state presidium and from 1975 to 1983 as the SPÖ district party chairman for the Salzburg-Stadt district. In 1974 he was elected deputy party chairman, he was also active with the Salzburg Children's Friends and as deputy chairman of the "Association of Socialist Freedom Fighters and Victims of Fascism". Kittl represented the SPÖ from 1962 to 1971 in the Salzburg municipal council and was a member of the National Council from November 4, 1971 to May 18, 1983. In addition, he was involved as a member of the board of the state school council for Salzburg and was vice-president of the Salzburger Volkshilfe from 1977 to 1985 .
