Eduard Lent
Eduard Lent (born November 16, 1831 in Wesel , † April 25, 1911 in Cologne ) was a German physician, secret medical adviser and author. He was considered a pioneer of a social hygiene movement .
Life
Lent studied medicine in Berlin, Heidelberg and Würzburg and received his doctorate in 1855. From 1857 he worked as a doctor in Cologne. Since the establishment of the Public Health Department , he was an associate member of the Office. He was chairman of the "Rhenish Medical Association". From 1874 to 1911 he was a member of the Cologne city council and chairman of the National Liberal Party .

Posthumous honors
Lentstrasse in the Neustadt-Nord district of Cologne was named after Eduard Lent. In October 2011, the new combined ice and swimming stadium Lentpark was named after his name.
