Eduard Rösch

Eduard Rösch (born October 7, 1870 in Vienna , † May 11, 1937 in Stockerau ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ) and party secretary. From 1919 to 1927 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and from 1927 to 1934 a member of the National Council .

After eight classes in elementary school, Rösch completed an apprenticeship as a brush maker and then worked for around 20 years in a Stockerau machine factory. He also attended the state trade school and advanced training courses.

After the outbreak of the First World War , Rösch was dismissed as the main shop steward and subsequently worked as a clerk for the professional association accident insurance of the Austrian railways. He was also party secretary in Stockerau. Rösch became a member of the Socialist Party in 1891 and founded a woodworkers' union group. He ran for the Reichsrat election in 1911, but was defeated by the Christian-Social politician Leopold Diwald . Between 1912 and 1914 he was a councilor in Stockerau. After the First World War he was mayor of Stockerau and was elected to the Lower Austrian state parliament on May 20, 1919. He belonged to this until May 20, 1927, from November 10, 1920 to May 11, 1921 of the Lower Austria Land Curia. Rösch then moved to the National Council on May 18, 1927, to which he was a member until February 17, 1934. He lost his seat on the National Council as a result of the Austrian Civil War .
