Eduard Wächter (born June 3, 1865 in Leonberg ; † January 20, 1947 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a theologian of the Association of Free Evangelical Churches .

Life

Wächter comes from an old Wuerttemberg pastor family. From 1893 to 1896 he was pastor at the German church in Montreux on Lake Geneva , from 1896 to 1901 pastor at the Christ Church in Frankfurt . It was during these years that he realized the need for a "biblical blueprint" for church service. In the spring of 1901 he left the regional church and founded the “Christian Congregation” in Frankfurt, which later joined the Association of Free Evangelical Congregations. In 1935, when he was seventy, the guard, who had been unmarried throughout his life, placed his duties in the hands of his successor Karl Glebe.
