Eduard Zwierlein

Eduard Zwierlein (born June 19, 1957 in Lahnstein ) is a German philosopher and adjunct professor of philosophy at the University of Koblenz-Landau and management consultant .

Life

After an independent three-semester general course, Eduard Zwierlein studied philosophy , theology , psychology and law at the University of Hamburg from 1978 to 1984 . After working as a research assistant for Klaus Oehler and completing his doctorate (1987), he worked as a project manager at Reuters . From 1989 to 1990 he was a research assistant at the Research Institute for Philosophy in Hanover with Peter Koslowski . From 1990 to 1995 he worked as a project manager at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and as a visiting and research professor at the University of Kaiserslautern . In 1996 he also held a professorship for the pilot project interdisciplinary study program . After a series of teaching positions , he completed his habilitation at the University of Koblenz-Landau (2000), where he was appointed associate professor of philosophy in 2008. Since 1990 he has also worked as a management consultant for service companies with a focus on leadership development in consulting , coaching and training .

Research priorities

The central themes of his research are philosophical anthropology , philosophy of mind and epistemology , which is founded erkenntnisanthropologisch. According to his anthropological sum, which traces the human being as question-being, his current works are concentrated in the project of a critique of metaphorical reason. Many of Zwierlein’s practical questions can be assigned to the discipline of ethics , especially applied ethics , where he works on current moral problems with the instruments of classical ethics traditions. In his research on the history of philosophy, Zwierlein particularly focuses on Pascal research , the reconstruction of Nietzsche's philosophy and the philosophy of the first half of the 20th century, particularly on the work and legacy of Paul Ludwig Landsberg .
