Eduardo Di Capua

Eduardo Di Capua (born March 12, 1865 in Naples , † October 3, 1917 there ) was an Italian composer .

Di Capua was born the son of a musician. He traveled to many European countries with his father. When he was with him in Odessa in April 1898 , he composed the melody of O sole mio . Later he added a text to the song. The poet Giovanni Capurro asked him to set it to music. Di Capua was also the author of many other songs.
