Eduardo Salcedo is a retired Mexican football player holding the position of defender .
career
Salcedo began his professional career in 1977 with the reigning Mexican champions UNAM Pumas , with whom he won a total of four titles in the early 1980s: once each the Mexican soccer championship and the Copa Interamericana (both 1981) and twice the CONCACAF Champions' Cup (1980 and 1982) . In the 1984/85 season he reached the finals for the Mexican championship against the immediate city rivals Club America with the Pumas . In these, the ultimately defeated Pumas were so disadvantaged by the team of referees that from then on the mutual animosity of the two clubs from the Coyoacán district developed into one of the bitterest rivalries in Mexican club football .
Salcedo then played briefly for Coyotes Neza , Atlético Potosino and Tiburones Rojos Veracruz .
