history

The Educatis University was founded by Konstantin Theile in 2000 and transferred to a public foundation on April 18, 2007, based in Altdorf, Canton Uri. Since 2003 it was recognized by the Education Council of the Canton of Uri and thus had the right to award academic titles. The foundation specializes in academic distance learning on the Internet. Course offer

The Educatis School of Management comprised a wide range of online seminars and certificate studies in German, English, Spanish and French. The MBA and MA program of the German-speaking and English-speaking Graduate School of Management offered various specializations. The following degrees were possible:

organization structure

The university consisted of two faculties:

  • Business Administration Faculty (with a "School of Management" in 4 languages)
  • Law Faculty (with a Graduate School of Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in Spanish)

The organizational structure of the university corresponded to an academic educational institution under state supervision. The university council and the operational and academic management of the university monitored each other. An independent quality assurance officer has been appointed to ensure quality. The focus of the university with the School of Management was the business education and training of specialists and managers in business and administration. The department included institutes that were active in the field of practice-oriented research.

Education

The course at the Educatis University was a distance learning course with optional face-to-face seminars. The Educatis concept made it possible to offer students an international teaching program worldwide, especially in emerging and developing countries. Under the umbrella of the university, Educatis had hired well-known professors from international universities as authors and lecturers. The learning modules could be downloaded by the students from a specially developed learning platform - eCampus. eCampus was also a communication platform (questions can be put to the professors or assistants in forums) and were used to check learning progress using online tests and case studies. The actual exams for the online seminars had to be written under supervision (2–4 hours each). They were taken at over 1000 exam locations around the world; H. organized as close to the student's place of residence and as flexible as possible in terms of time. The students could also decide for themselves when they wanted to start their studies. There were no fixed semesters or enrollment dates. The standard period of study for the MBA / LL.M. was 30 months.

Recognitions

Educatis was recognized as an educational institution by the canton of Uri on the basis of a cantonal ordinance. However, Educatis was not recognized by the Swiss State University Conference .

The website of the German Standing Conference assigns Educatis the status "H-" (non-recognized university). This is justified as follows: "It is an institution that is not included in the list of recognized universities for the equivalence agreement between Germany and Switzerland. It is entirely possible that cantonal recognition exists; however, it is not decisive for recognition in Germany."
