The Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG) is a Catholic private university in Ecuador .

history

The college was founded on May 17, 1962 by César Antonio Mosquera Corral , Archbishop of Guayaquil. The Jesuit Father Joaquín Flor Vásconez SJ was the founding rector. The foundation was supported by the President of Ecuador Carlos Julio Arosemena Monroy as well as Cardinal Richard Cushing and Cardinal Julius Döpfner .
