Edward Kirby

Edward Kirby ( Edward Buckler "Ed" Kirby ; born October 30, 1901 in Washington, DC , † June 5, 1968 in West Orange ) was an American middle and long distance runner .

In 1923 he started for Cornell University with his personal best of 4: 17.8 min IC4A champion in the mile run .

In 1924 he became the US champion over 880 yards. In the team race over 3000 m at the Olympic Games in Paris , he came in sixth place and won bronze with the US team.
