Edwin Koller

Karl Edwin Koller (born May 28, 1921 - August 5, 2005 ) was a Swiss politician .

The high point of his political career was the office of the St. Gallen government council . Edwin Koller presided over the cantonal government of St. Gallen four times as Mayor . Between 1964 and 1988 he was head of the Department of the Interior and the Military Department.

Under Koller, the popular election of the Council of States was introduced, the number of members of the Grand Council was fixed at 180 and a law on ballot box voting was introduced, which at the time made it easier for all of Switzerland to vote.
