Edwin Thomas (* 1977 in Frankfurt am Main ) is an English writer who also publishes under the pseudonym Tom Harper .

Life

Thomas was born in West Germany and spent his childhood and youth in Belgium and Connecticut. After finishing school he began to study at Lincoln College ( Oxford University ). After successfully completing his studies, Thomas worked for an insurance company for about three years.

He made his first attempts at writing as a schoolboy. After three years, Thomas reduced his job to a part-time job in order to devote more time to his writing.

He currently (2011) lives in York with his wife, whom he met during his studies, and his son .

Thomas wrote a series under his own name about his protagonist "Lieutenant Martin Jerrold". These historical novels are set during the French era and the coalition wars . According to his own admission, this series should be continued.

Under the pseudonym Tom Harper , he published a number of novels that he had set in the time of the Crusades . There were also some novels that deal with historical topics, although they actually deal in the present. The novel The Forgotten Temple thematizes the armor or the shield of the hero Achilles , The Book of Satan deals and others. a. with Johannes Gutenberg and the master of playing cards and The Lazarus Vault tells the story of the rich London Monsalvat Bank and how it came about.
