St Mary's Church, Edwinstowe

Edwinstowe is a village in Sherwood Forest , in the north of the English county of Nottinghamshire . His name means something like "Edwin's resting place" in German . This is due to the fact that the body of the Anglo-Saxon King and Saint Edwin was hidden in the church of the village after he fell in the Battle of Hatfield Chase near Doncaster on October 12, 633 .

The legend has it that Robin Hood in the church St Mary's in Edwinstowe his mistress Maid Marian were married.
