Eef Albers (born April 5, 1951 in Rhenen ) is a Dutch guitarist of fusion jazz .

Life

Albers turned to the guitar at the age of 15; Already at the age of twenty he was a sought-after session musician, who also appeared as a soloist at concerts and on tours. Albers has been working in a trio with John Lee and Gerry Brown since 1972 , which was partly expanded to include Daryl Thompson . In 1975 he presented his first album "Blue Capricorn"; he also played regularly with Peter Herbolzheimer's Rhythm Combination & Brass and with the BBC orchestra. He was a member of the Focus and Kraan groups . Until 1990 he was a member of the Metropole Orkest . He also appeared with Jasper van't Hof and Ack van Rooyen , both of whom also appeared on his album "Pyramids" (1986). He also played with Bob Malach ("Some People"), with Manfred Schoof , with Stanley Clarke , with Toots Thielemans , Simon Phillips and with Steve Smith's "Vital Information". With Sebastiaan Cornelissen he released the album "Aggressive Attack" (2002).

Albers teaches guitar at various universities in the Netherlands.
