Egbert Scheunemann (born March 1, 1958 in East Berlin ) is a German political scientist, natural philosopher and author.

Life

Scheunemann studied political science with a minor in philosophy at the University of Hamburg from 1979 to 1985 . He received his doctorate with a dissertation on Ota Šik's model of humane economic democracy . He then was a lecturer at the University of Hamburg and the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics . In 1997 the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg rejected his habilitation request ( Habilitation thesis : Ecological-humane economic democracy. Part C: Ecological criticism of industrialism and socio-ecological alternatives ).

His writings on economic policy deal critically with positions that he describes as neoliberal : The current economic system is dominated by neoliberals and needs democratization , humanization and ecologicalization. Other focal points of his work are philosophy of language (in particular Jürgen Habermas ) and philosophy of nature (structures of language - structures of reality, determinism of natural laws , free will , theory of relativity ).

Scheunemann is a critic of the theory of relativity . In his opinion, there is neither a time dilation nor a length contraction , as stated in the special and general theory of relativity. He describes the relativistic phenomena measured in experiments as the “observation effect”. It is thus in contradiction to established physics.
