Egbert Wilhelm von Hochstetter

Egbert Wilhelm von Hochstetter (born March 31, 1868 in Vienna ; † August 2, 1906 in Opava ) was an Austrian mining engineer.

Hochstetter was a son of the geologist Ferdinand von Hochstetter . He received his PhD in 1896 at the University of Vienna Dr. phil. and graduated in 1899 at the Bergakademie Leoben as a qualified mining engineer. He worked as a mining engineer in the Ostrau-Karwiner coal field. He described the fossil cephalopods Belemnites eduardi and Stephanoceras tennicostatum .
