Egen from Bamberg

Master Egen von Bamberg (active approx. 1320-1340) was a German minstrel who came from Eastern Franconia , probably from Bamberg .

From him the two Minnered speeches Die clage der minne and Das heart have come down, which because of their mannerist, exaggerated expression are considered the climax of the floral style . In the Minneburg he is mentioned as an exemplary poet.
