Egon Jugel (born February 8, 1923 ) was a football player in Saxony in the 1940s and 1950s . With the BSG Horch Zwickau he was the first GDR soccer champion, with the SG Volkspolizei Dresden vice-champion.

Jugel's football career in the men's division only began at the age of 24 because of the Second World War, when he joined the Planitz sports club in the Zwickau suburb of the same name in 1947 . In 1948 the SG Planitz qualified for the 1st East Zone Championship and reached the final. The Randzwickauer played on July 4, 1948 in Leipzig in front of 40,000 spectators with Jugel as left defender against SG Freiimfelde Halle and won 1-0. In 1949 the SG Planitz was converted into the BSG Horch Zwickau, but only came fourth in the Saxon championship. After three play-offs against Zeiss Jena, Horch Zwickau qualified for the newly introduced Oberliga desGerman Sports Committee . Jugel was nominated as defender for Horch Zwickau's line-up for the first league season in 1949/50. He played 19 of the 26 point games played and thus contributed significantly to winning the championship title for Zwickau. Also in the league season 1950/51, in which the Zwickau team competed as BSG Motor, Jugel was part of the Zwickau team again with 24 appearances in a total of 34 point games. With the state selection of Saxony, Jugel was GDR state cup winner in 1951 after a 2-1 victory over the selection of Saxony-Anhalt. In the season 1951/52 Jugel joined the SG Volkspolizei Dresden, for which he played 18 of the 36 played point games. With this team he was GDR runner-up. Further appearances in higher class football are not known.
