Egon Mühr

Egon Mühr (born December 15, 1933 in Arnsberg-Neheim ; † January 11, 2008 there ) was a German senior district director and politician of the CDU .

Life and work

After secondary school , Mühr first completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer , then obtained his university entrance qualification on the second educational path and studied law and political science in Berlin and Münster. After successfully completing his studies, he first worked as a lawyer and then switched to the Bundeswehr administration. At the beginning of 1972 he began his service with the former Arnsberg district , where he was elected district director in 1973 .

After the municipal reorganization, he worked as a department head at the Hochsauerlandkreis . In 1979 he was elected district director and in 1986 senior district director. He headed this office until his retirement in 1995.

From 1993 to 2004 Mühr was chairman of the partnership association West Lothian - Hochsauerlandkreis, for many years he was 2nd chairman of SC Neheim and was chairman of the board of trustees of the Neheimer St. Johannes Hospital. In 1991 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his special services in the voluntary sector . The Hochsauerlandkreis honored him with the ring of honor in 1995.

Mühr joined the CDU in 1951 and was chairman of the Junge Union in the Arnsberg district for many years . In addition, he was a member of the council of the former town of Neheim-Hüsten and there also deputy mayor and chairman of the local CDU. In the Arnsberg district he was a member of the district council for several years.
