Egon Tuchtfeldt

Egon Tuchtfeldt (born November 27, 1923 in Dithmarschen , † August 23, 1997 in Muri near Bern ) was a German economist . He was a full professor at the University of Bern for many years .

Life

Tuchtfeldt studied social and economic sciences at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen and the Universität Hamburg . He was trained in 1949 with Karl Schiller at the Socio-Economic Seminar in Hamburg with the dissertation The sociology of knowledge as a means of knowledge in the history of dogma. Shown using the example of the Greek economics for Dr. rer. pole. did his doctorate and habilitation in 1955 with the thesis freedom of trade as an economic and political problem . Then he was a private lecturer in economics . In 1959 he became a professor of economics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . There he headed the Institute for Industrial and Transport Policy.

He was then from 1962 to 1989 as the successor to Fritz Marbach Professor of Practical Economics at the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Bern . In Bern he was a. a. one of the founders of the Economics Institute. From 1990 to 1991 he was a professor of economics, particularly economic policy, at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg. His main research interests were economic policy , international economic relations, competition policy and economic theory . He was the editor of numerous publications and founded the Bern contributions to political economy in 1965 .
