The Egyptian Army Stadium ( Arabic ستاد الجيش المصري بالسويس) is a football stadium in the Egyptian city of Suez . It was completed in 2009. Originally, the stadium was planned as one of five venues for the 2010 World Cup for which Egypt had applied. The Mubarak International Stadium was named after Muhammad Husni Mubarak , who was President of Egypt from 1981 to 2011. After the fall of Mubarak, it was renamed the Egyptian Army Stadium .
The stadium has 40,000 seats and is used for soccer games. It was the venue for several games of the 2009 Junior World Cup .
