The Egyptian German Automotive Company is a joint venture founded in 1996 that assembled Mercedes-Benz vehicles until 2015 . It is based in the city ​​of October 6th .

Daimler held a 26% stake in this company. The system was initially designed for an annual capacity of 2500 vehicles and a workforce of around 200 employees.

The E-Class (from 1997) and the C-Class (from 1999) were assembled as CKD kits . The S-Class (from 2006) and the GLK SUV (from 2009) were also available as SKD kits . The proportion of locally supplied parts should amount to 42%.
