Office Isselhorst

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Office Isselhorst was an official in the district of Bielefeld in the administrative district of Minden of the Prussian province of Westphalia . It existed in the middle of the 19th century and then became part of the Brackwede office . The former municipalities of the office today belong partly to the city of Gütersloh , partly to the city of Bielefeld .

history

Until 1806 the Isselhorst area belonged to the Vogtei Brackwede in the Sparrenberg office of the Ravensberg county , which had belonged to Prussia since the 17th century . During the Napoleonic period , the Brackwede Bailiwick became the Brackwede canton in the Bielefeld district of the Kingdom of Westphalia . In 1808 two municipalities were established in the canton of Brackwede . The second municipality comprised Steinhagen , Isselhorst, Hollen , Holtkamp , and NiehorstEbbesloh . Steinhagen was reclassified from Canton Brackwede to Canton Brockhagen in 1812 by decree of the King of Westphalia .

After the end of the French era , the Ravensberger Land fell back to Prussia in 1813. As part of a major administrative reform , Prussia was divided into newly established provinces , administrative districts and districts . In 1816, the district of Bielefeld was formed in the administrative district of Minden in the province of Westphalia , which also included the area around Isselhorst, which is now known as the municipality . With the introduction of the Westphalian State Municipal Code was finally out of the church Isselhorst in December 1843, the Office Isselhorst . The Isselhorst office had 2,678 inhabitants and comprised five towns:

At the same time, the neighboring Brackwede Office was formed, whose bailiff co-administered the Isselhorst Office. As early as 1847, both offices were combined to form the Office Brackwede-Isselhorst with headquarters in Brackwede. Finally, the name Amt Brackwede became naturalized for the office .

With the law on the reorganization of the Wiedenbrück district and parts of the Bielefeld district , the communal situation in the Isselhorst area was reorganized on January 1st, 1970:

  • Holtkamp and a small part of Isselhorst were incorporated into the town of Brackwede .
  • Ebbesloh, Hollen, most of Isselhorst and Niehorst were incorporated into the town of Gütersloh , which was then part of the Wiedenbrück district.

A short time later, Holtkamp and Brackwede were incorporated into Bielefeld on January 1, 1973 .

Church affiliation

Isselhorst, Ebbesloh, Hollen, Holtkamp and Niehorst have formed the Protestant parish of Isselhorst since ancient times .
