The Foundation for Volunteering and Civic Engagement in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (in short: Ehrenamtsstiftung MV) has existed as a foundation under civil law since June 1, 2015. The purpose of the foundation is to promote voluntary and civic engagement in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with legal advice, further training offers, recognition To strengthen networking and exchange events as well as financial support.

The foundation was established on the initiative of the state government and is based in Güstrow . As a donation foundation, it has basic assets of 200,000 euros. The state budget provides 1.4 million euros a year for operational activities. In 2019, the MVV volunteer foundation supported 621 charitable projects of associations and initiatives with a total of 599,185.47 euros. The chairman of the foundation is Hannelore Kohl , the managing director is Jan Holze .
