Location of Siegumlund in Schleswig-Holstein

Siegumlund ( Danish : Sigumlund ) is a place that belongs to the municipality of Munkbrarup . It is located directly east of Siegum on the Flensburg Fjord .

background

The moraine landscape of Siegumlund was apparently formed as part of the fjord landscape during the last ice age . The Siegum large stone grave on the edge of the Siegumlund forest is evidence of an early settlement in the Neolithic Age . The place name Siegumlund is made up of the place name " Siegum " and the word "Lund". The word "Lund" generally refers to a grove or a forest that actually exists in the case of Siegumlund. On the map of the Prussian new admission around 1879, Siegumlund with its settlement stock and its forest area was already drawn in in great detail. Today, Siegumlund consists of the street of the same name, Siegumlund, which begins at the village of Siegum and leads from there to the settlement area of Siegumlund, the aforementioned scattered settlement of a few houses and the forest area of Siegumlund. The forest area of Siegumlund is today part of the nature reserve Höftland Bockholmwik and the adjacent cliffs . There is a parking lot as well as a natural beach .
