Ehrenfried Leichel
Ehrenfried Leichel (born January 18, 1828 in Emmerich , † November 16, 1905 in Arnhem ) was a German and Dutch organ builder .
He set out in 1854 in Duisburg independently , but then moved to the Netherlands, first to Hummeloo and 1885 to Arnhem. He became a well-known organ builder, especially in the Netherlands.
Proven work
- 1859: Kerpen , Protestant Johanneskirche , restored in 2008 (additional pedal register)
- 1861: Moers-Kapellen (organ building during the complete renovation of the Protestant church in 1860/1861, removed in 1969)
- 1870: Oudewater (the organ building is almost certainly ascribed to him, restored)
- 1885: Schiedam (village church in Kethel, restored 1982 + new bass pedal)
- 1887: Arnhem-Süd (Salvator Church; this organ was initially built for the Reformed Church in Arnhem-Nord)
His brother Friedrich Leichel , who started out as an organ builder in Düsseldorf, later moved to the Netherlands.
