Medal of Honor (Monaco)

The Medal of Honor was donated by Decree No. 296 on February 5, 1894 by Prince Albert I of Monaco and is awarded for exceptional civil and military services to the principality .

The round medal , which is awarded in three stages ( gold or silver- gilt , silver, bronze ), is surrounded by a thick laurel wreath . In the middle it shows the bust of the ruling prince turned to the right. The corresponding inscription in a circlet, for example ALBERT I PRINCE DE MONACO (Albert I Prince of Monaco) on the first coinage . On the reverse in the middle the word DEVOIR and all around the hoop in the upper semicircle PTE DE MONACO and 5 FEVRIER 1894 in the lower semicircle.

The award is worn on a red and white ribbon on the left side of the chest.
