The Medal of Honor of the National Front was an award from the National Front of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1975 in one step. They were awarded for exemplary cooperation in shaping the developed socialist society as well as for the struggle to maintain and secure peace. It was the successor to the Ernst Moritz Arndt Medal , the awards of which were discontinued in 1975.

Appearance

The silver-colored medal with a diameter of 40.5 mm shows the embossed state coat of arms of the GDR on its obverse in the upper half, as well as two laurel branches below, which are bent upwards and flank the national coat of arms on both sides. The inscription reads: EHRENMEDAILLE (above) and NATIONALE FRONT (below). The reverse shows the embossed three-line inscription: DEUTSCHE / DEMOKRATISCHE / REPUBLIK . Below are two bay leaves with a fruit. The medal was worn on a rectangular fabric-covered clasp whose basic color is blue on the upper left side of the chest. In addition, three vertical dark blue central stripes are woven into the ribbon, the middle stripes of which are 1 mm wide and the outer stripes 3 mm wide. Their distance from the left hem was 3 mm. As a miniature, a silver laurel branch was also placed on the interim clasp.
