Plaque of honor

The plaque of honor is a high honor for people and groups who have made outstanding contributions to local political, social and economic levels, environmental protection, cultural, academic and sporting or other areas. It is awarded, among other things, by official bodies in cities and districts .

Plaques of honor by region

  • Ahrweiler : The plaque of honor of the Ahrweiler district was first donated by the Ahrweiler district council in 1985 . Since then, people and groups have been honored with this prestigious award who have made outstanding contributions to the Ahrweiler district on a local political, social and economic level, in environmental protection, in cultural, school and sporting or in other areas.   • Düren : The plaque of honor has been awarded since 1978 to people who have rendered services to the city or who have made achievements in the field of work or sport. The bronze plaque has a diameter of 90 mm and bears the coat of arms of the city with the name of the winner and the date of award.
  • Frankfurt am Main : The plaque of honor of the city of Frankfurt am Main has been awarded since 1952 to people who have rendered services to the city in the local political, cultural, economic, social or urban areas.
  • Stuttgart : The plaque of honor has been awarded annually by the mayor to 52 people since 1998 for their voluntary work, particularly in the areas of social issues, culture, education, sport, the environment and safety.
