Honor pillar of the Sino-Soviet friendship

The honor column of the Sino-Soviet friendship ( 中 苏 友谊 纪念塔 , Zhōng-Sū yǒuyì jìniàntǎ , English Cenotaph for the Friendship Between China and USSR / Memorial Tower of Sino-Soviet Friendship ) is a in Lüshun (Lüshunkou) in Dalian , Liaoning Province Memorial erected between 1955 and 1957 on the south side of Stalin Square (since 1993 People's Square). It is intended to commemorate the victory of the Soviet Red Army against Japan in northeast China in 1945 and its Soviet victims. The column has a height of 22.2 meters. There is an inscription from Zhou Enlai .

The following representations are found on four bas-reliefs:

  • the Gate of Heavenly Peace and the Moscow Kremlin in the south 天安门 和 克里姆林宫 ,
  • the blast furnace of the Anshan steelworks in the east 鞍钢 高炉 ,
  • the Sino-Soviet Friendship Farm ( Youyi nongchang ) in the west 中 苏 友谊 农场 ,
  • and the Victory Column in Lüshun Harbor (Lüshun kou) in the north 旅顺 口 胜 利塔 .

The Honor Pillar of Sino-Soviet Friendship ( Zhong-Su youyi jinianta ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-32) since 1961 .
