Eichstätt Bahnhof is the only train station and one of four operating points in the large district town of Eichstätt . It is the only one of these stations on the Ingolstadt – Treuchtlingen train station. In addition, the Eichstätt – Beilngries railway begins here , but only as far as Eichstätt Stadt.

The station has 93 parking spaces.

history

The station was opened on April 12, 1870 together with the Munich-Ingolstadt-Nuremberg railway line. It was built in the district of Eichstätt-Bahnhof of the municipality of Wasserzell , which was incorporated into Eichstätt on July 1, 1972. On September 15, 1885, a narrow-gauge railway was opened from Eichstätt station to Eichstätt city. By October 4, 1934, the narrow-gauge railway to Kinding was switched to standard gauge and the route was changed to Eichstätt Stadt.
