Eight Girls in a Boat is a 1934 American film. It is an English language remake of the 1932 German film Eight Girls in a Boat. A boarding school for girls in Switzerland : the student Christa Storm notices that she is pregnant. Abandoned by the child's father, she learns to love her classmate David, but Christa's father is against the relationship. Christa is desperate and even thinks of suicide .

Christa is on the rowing team at the boarding school, where nobody knows about her pregnancy. As her performance deteriorates, her trainer makes her train extra hard until she almost collapses. Only then will their plight become known and everything will turn out for the better.
