Eigil Knutsen

Eigil Knutsen (born October 28, 1988 in Haugesund ) is a Norwegian politician of the social democratic Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2017 .

Life

From 2008 to 2013 Knutsen studied economics at the University of Bergen , which he completed with a master’s degree in 2013. From 2015 to 2017 he worked as a political advisor for the municipality of Bergen .

Knutsen entered the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2017 general election . There he represents the constituency of Hordaland and he was initially a member of the finance committee. In January 2018 he moved to the Labor and Social Committee before returning to the Finance Committee in October 2019.

Knutsen is one of the proponents of closer cooperation between the Arbeiderpartiet and the green Miljøpartiet De Grønne (MDG).
