Liege Count Eigil Valdemar Knuth-Knuthenborg (born December 5, 1866 in Sorø , † December 8, 1933 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish captain and master hunter .

Life

Eigil Knuth was born in 1866 as the ninth of ten children of postmaster Adam Knuth from the noble family Knuth and his wife Annette Marie Knuth.

In March 1889 Knuth became second lieutenant in the 5th battalion and was transferred to the royal bodyguard in 1892. In 1906 he became a captain in the 5th regiment. In 1908 he was again transferred to the life guards. In 1915 he received his departure. Later he was chairman of the Danish Airline Company .

Knuth was a knight of the Dannebrog Order .

Marriages and offspring

On December 3, 1897, Knuth Marie Djimphna married Johanne Emma de Pasqualin Gámel (* October 14, 1877, † September 17, 1911) in Copenhagen. The marriage resulted in three sons, all of whom were born in Copenhagen and were given the title "Liege Count" from birth:

  • Jørgen Knuth-Knuthenborg (born September 9, 1901 - March 3, 1986), archivist
  • Eigil Knuth -Knuthenborg (August 8, 1903; March 12, 1996)
  • Adam Cyrille Knuth-Knuthenborg (September 6, 1904; September 29, 1974)

After the death of his first wife, Knuth married Tove Benzon (born March 29, 1889; †) on April 10, 1913 in Copenhagen. After the end of this marriage, Knuth married Ellen Werner (* October 20, 1892; †) on October 11, 1925.
