Liege Count Adam Vilhelm Frederik Knuth (born August 17, 1829 in Bonderup , † June 12, 1902 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish postmaster in Sorø and chamberlain .

Life

Knuth came from the ancient noble family Knuth and was the son of the bailiff Julius Knuth and his second wife Georgine Frederikke Vilhelmine, née von Hauch.

Knuth volunteered for the army in 1848 and became a corporal in the 6th Line Battalion. On September 1, 1848 he was second lieutenant , in 1849 he was wounded at Fredericia . On December 29th he received his farewell as Prime Lieutenant . From 1851 to 1900 he was postmaster in Sorø, and in 1891 he became chamberlain. Knuth was a bearer of the Dannebrog Order .

Marriage and offspring

On May 12, 1852 Knuth married Baroness Annette Marie Haxthausen- Abbenburg (* December 5, 1828 - May 28, 1898) in Holbæk Kirke . The marriage resulted in ten children, all born in Sorø Købstad, all of whom bore the title of Count or Countess.
