Eileen Kramer

Eileen Kramer (born November 8, 1914 in Sydney ) is an Australian dancer , choreographer , painter and author .

Life

Kramer grew up in Sydney and attended the Conservatorium of Music there. She was a student of the dancer Gertrud Bodenwieser and toured with the Bodenwieser Ballet for ten years. In 1959 she traveled through India, Pakistan, Africa, Europe and worked for several decades in the USA. In 2013 she returned to Australia and was back on stage in November 2017. In 2015 she was named one of the 100 most influential women in the country by the Australian bank Westpac and the Australian Financial Review. As a painter, she submitted a self-portrait for the Archibald Prize in 2019 .
